I first realized I had hearing challenges when I was 7 or 8 and lost my hearing for a month after scarlet fever. I always had problems since then, and after a mastoid surgery in 1964, I lost 25% of my hearing. In the 80s, I got a hearing aid, and now I’m almost deaf with 40% hearing. The aids help but not much. I had no fears before contacting Great Lakes Hearing because my hearing was already bad, and I felt sure if anyone could help me, it would be the staff. They are kind, always ready to help, and do everything it takes. 

 Hearing aids enable me to hear the best I can. I can have a conversation and watch TV, though it’s hard in a crowd. My favourite thing about working with the clinic is that they are always willing to help, troubleshoot, make you feel important, and always have a smile. I would say to anyone concerned about their hearing: Go for it, don’t hesitate. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. Millions wear them, age is no problem, and it’s more embarrassing to keep asking people to repeat themselves or not hear at all. No one ever knows you have them on but you, and it will improve your life.
