Taylor Harp
Hearing Care Cooridnator
Taylor grew up in Port Elgin, Ontario, where she attended both elementary and high school before continuing her education at Georgian College. There, she completed her Personal Support Worker (PSW) and Pre-Health certifications, building a strong foundation for a career in healthcare.
It seems Taylor was always destined to find her way into the hearing care field. Inspired by her mother, who has worked in hearing care since Taylor was young, she grew up witnessing the meaningful impact that compassionate healthcare can have on people’s lives. Seeing firsthand how much of a difference her mother made for patients-especially seniors, sparked Taylor’s desire to follow a similar path and make a positive difference in people’s lives.
Taylor currently works as a Hearing Care Coordinator while also working as a PSW at Gateway Haven in Wiarton. In September, she will be attending university to further pursue her education in healthcare. In her role at the clinic, Taylor assists with preparing orders, managing warranty repairs and keeping supplies and inventory organized. She also spends time observing and learning from the team, gaining valuable hands-on experience that will support her future studies.
Taylor loves that her work allows her to help improve people’s lives, even in small but meaningful ways. She especially enjoys hearing patients’ stories and learning from the experiences that have shaped their lives. For Taylor, being part of a field that supports seniors and helps people reconnect with the world around them is incredibly rewarding.
Outside the office, Taylor enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Charlie and George. She also loves spending time with her grandmother, whether that means going for drives to explore new places, sitting by the water, getting their nails done or watching Jeopardy! and The Price Is Right together. Taylor lives in Dobbinton with her partner, and the two recently celebrated buying their home two years ago.
If you could have dinner with one person, who would you choose?
I think I would have to choose my grandmother. I really value our time together and want to spend as much time with her as I can.
What is your favourite sports team?
I’m not the biggest sports girl, to be honest.
What is your favourite food?
I’m definitely a steak-and-potatoes kind of girl.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would love to visit Japan one day. It looks absolutely beautiful.
What’s your all-time favourite TV show/series?
That’s a hard one because I love watching TV shows, but my all-time favourite would have to be Grey’s Anatomy. I’ve been watching it with my grandma since I was four years old.
