Jill Curtis

Jill grew up in a little village called Birds Creek, just north of Bancroft, Ontario. She attended North Hastings High School (NHHS).  

After working as a receptionist at a hearing clinic, Jill decided that she wanted to upgrade her career path. Her employer suggested that she should return to school to become a hearing instrument specialist and that he would offer her a job afterwards. Jill considered that a good option, and coupled with witnessing her father’s experience with Meniere’s disease, her decision to advance within the hearing care world was sealed. 

As clinic owner of Great Lakes Hearing, Jill tries to keep the clinic running as smoothly as possible, but she acknowledges that she frequently relies on Megan for support. Jill’s favourite part of her role is her hearing instrument specialist responsibilities. She thoroughly loves getting to know her patients and helping them while also making the process and stigma of hearing loss disappear.  

Jill enjoys connecting with patients and feeling like she’s known them forever. However, patients’ smiles and the thank yous are definitely the best part of her job.  

When she’s not working, Jill spends time with her three dogs—two Great Danes (Stella and Luna) and a husky mix (Rocky)—who love lots of attention. Jill also likes hiking, camping, woodworking/small projects, gardening, paddle boarding and kayaking. She adds that she also enjoys hunting, seeing as she was born into a family who relied on hunting wild game for dinner.
